On This Day In 2005, HomeTeamNS Was Formed
Today, HomeTeamNS celebrates its 20th anniversary! This non-profit organisation was officially launched by then-Minister for Home Affairs, Wong Kan Seng, on 24 Apr 2005.
HomeTeamNS merged the former Singapore Police Association for National Servicemen (SPANS) and Singapore Civil Defence Association for National Servicemen (CDANS). This brought together about 160,000 members across six clubhouses under one roof.

More than just a clubhouse
The goal of HomeTeamNS is to build a stronger sense of community among our brave NSmen who served in the Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). And what better way to do that than through sports, fun activities, and chill hangout spots?
Today, HomeTeamNS has grown bigger and better – with over 270,000 members and 3 clubhouses around Singapore: Bedok Reservoir, Bukit Batok, and Khatib.

Members can sweat it out at state-of-the-art gyms, or chill with the fam at family-friendly spaces and yummy F&B spots. There are also villas for weekend getaways and enrichment centres for the kids.
The Khatib clubhouse, spanning 21,000sqm, was the first to be purpose-built for HomeTeamNS when it opened on 10 Apr 2021. Dubbed Singapore’s first “smart” clubhouse, it features high-tech touches like self-help kiosks, real-time visitor tracking, and a mobile app that lets members book facilities.

Following that, the second purpose-built clubhouse opened at Bedok Reservoir on 4 Jan 2023 – and it definitely made a splash. As the only reservoir-fronting clubhouse in Singapore, it offers a stunning waterfront view. The five-storey, 14,500sqm clubhouse is home to some impressive firsts: Singapore’s first all-weather water adventure centre and the longest indoor water slide in the country.
Home Affairs Minister K Shanmugam announced that a new clubhouse in Tengah is expected to be ready by 2031. It will replace the current Bukit Batok location.
Celebrating 20 years
To celebrate its 20th anniversary in 2025, HomeTeamNS will be rolling out a year of promotions and family-friendly festivities. One of the main highlights is a roving exhibition that’ll make its way across the clubhouses, spotlighting the organisation’s journey over the years, and what exciting plans lie ahead.
